Membership

Everyone is welcome to become a member of the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association. Your membership in CASA supports national agricultural health and safety initiatives and services to help producers recognize and manage risk in their workplace.

CASA members are farmers, teachers and health professionals. They’re researchers, government officials and ag service and supply representatives. And they all work separately and together toward "a Canada where no one is hurt farming".

As a CASA member, you are a vital part of CASA national strategy to reduce agricultural injuries to zero. Your opinions, concerns and suggestions help form CASA's strategic plans. CASA members are eligible to become part of CASA's Council to more formally discuss and advise on CASA actions.

CASA”s Council elects its members to the Board of Directors so your involvement in Canadian farm safety action starts as a CASA member.

You will receive a weekly e-summary – communiqué - of ag safety news from around the world. You’ll also be on the list for CASA’s monthly e-newsletter Liaison. Members hear first about new CASA resources and training information and may borrow selected training resources at no cost. CASA pays shipping charges to deliver the resource to you. You choose how to return it at your expense.

New in 2011, on request - CASA members can access the full Canada FarmSafe Plan. As a member, you can receive all the supporting documents including templates, samples and tools to develop and use the Canada FarmSafe Plan in the management of your farm. At no charge.

And every year, members are invited to participate in a conference to update and stimulate innovation in the field. CASA members pay a significantly reduced conference fee.

Individual and non-profit corporation membership fees are $50.00 annually. The annual fee is $250.00 for businesses or organizations who represent academia & research; agricultural advocacy groups; provincial or territorial governments; or the ag service and supply industry. The business or organization is then entitled to name four members - one of whom may vote at CASA's annual meeting and run, as well as vote for, CASA Council positions in their sector. The membership year runs from August 1 – July 31.
